"Resident Playbook" Dominates Global Charts and Social Media After Debut
tvN’s Resident Playbook (also known as Unsliven) has quickly captured both global popularity and social buzz after its debut episode aired last weekend.
The show, which follows first-year residents at the fictional Yulje Hospital, has been praised for its relatable portrayal of young doctors navigating the challenges of early professional life. The storyline of rookie doctors stumbling through their responsibilities while forming deep personal connections has struck a chord with viewers, offering a mix of humor and heartfelt moments.
According to Netflix’s Global Top 10, Resident Playbook entered the non-English TV chart for the week of April 7-13, signaling a strong start for the series. As of April 16, global OTT ranking service FlixPatrol reported that Resident Playbook topped charts in several Asian countries, including South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, reaching the Top 10 in 44 countries.
In addition, the show’s related videos have skyrocketed in popularity, with YouTube and social media views exceeding 65 million, further amplifying its widespread attention. The series also ranked high on the FUNdex by Good Data Corporation and the daily trend rankings by KinoLights, a major OTT content search platform.
The upcoming episodes (3 and 4) are set to focus on the characters' growth, building excitement for the next chapter.
